STEADYING BLOOD SUGAR WITH FLAXSEEDS

FLAXSEEDS are packed with ALPHA-LINOLENIC ACID (ALA), a fat that helps your BRAIN use BLOOD SUGAR for FUEL, reports the Journal of Food Science and Techbology.

Add 2 Tbs. of the ground seeds to yogurt, smoothies, salads or other dishes, and you should feel more CLEARHEADED within a MONTH, says study coauthor Viv Sharma, Ph.D.

TIP: Refrigerate or freeze flaxseeds for freshness. Their high concentration of fatty acids makes them susceptible to spoilage at room temperature.
