  • The Bad Angel

Have you ever wondered why there is so much sadness, sickness, and death? Or why people lie and cheat and steal?

We learned that God created a perfect, beautiful world. He also created two perfect people and gave them a lovely garden home. In fact, God gave them everything their hearts could desire.

Well, sad to say, the happiness, peace, joy and love on earth ended because of a rebellious angel in Heaven. Let’s find out more about where he came from and what will happen to him in the end.

  • 1. Where did Satan come from? (Luke 10:18)

  • 2. How did he get here on the earth? (Revelation 12:7-9)

  • Note: Satan or Lucifer and the evil angels fought against Jesus and His good angels. When Satan and his angels were thrown out of Heaven, they came to planet Earth.

  • 3. What kind of being was Lucifer in the beginning? (Ezekiel 28:11-16)

  • Note: The “guardian cherub” is a description of the angel that stood next to the throne of God in heaven. This angel was one of the most honored of all created beings. Although Lucifer was created perfect, he made himself into a devil doing things his way instead of God’s way.

  • 4. What led to Lucifer’s sin and rebellion? (Ezekiel 28:17)

  • Note: Because of Lucifer’s beauty and position he slowly became more proud. He was not satisfied with his position because he thought he was too good for it.

  • 5. What goal did Satan set for himself (Isaiah 14:12-14)

  • 6. Because he deceived Adam and Eve, what does Satan now claim as his? (Luke 4:5, 6)

  • Note: When God gave Adam and Eve the world to rule Satan decided to take control of it. That’s why He caused them to sin. Now he declares the world to be under his control.

  • 7. Who brings the suffering and trouble upon mankind? (Job1:6, 7; Luke 13:10, 11, and 16)

  • 8. Why does the devil work so viciously now? (Revelation 12:12)

  • 9. What is Satan doing these days? (1 Peter 5:8)

  • Note: Satan wants to destroy our lives. The little voice that comes to you and says, “Do this” and you know it is wrong—that voice comes from Satan. The little voice that comes to you and says,” No, that is wrong” comes from the Holy Spirit.

  • 10. Who can give us the help we need to resist Satan’s temptations? (Phil. 4:13; Hebrews 2:18)

  • 11. What will happen to Satan and his evil angels in the end? (Ezekiel 28:18, 19: Matt. 25:41)

  • Conclusion: In the very end God will destroy Satan and his angels. Gone forever will be sin and sickness, sorrow and death. He will bring His children to be with Him in heaven.

    Dear God,
Even though Satan is a bad angel and wants to destroy my life I am so glad that You are more powerful than him. Help me to stay close to you so that Satan can’t hurt or tempt me. I am so glad that You are very strong and powerful and that you love me and want to help me.
