  • HEAVEN IS REAL

Have you ever thought about Heaven? Some people imagine they’ll be on a cloud playing a harp. Others think about walking on streets of gold. And others think they will be like a spirit without a body living forever. What does the Bible really teach about Heaven? Let’s find out.

  • 1. What do we become when we believe in Jesus for our salvation?

    (John 1: 12, 13)

  • 2. What does it mean to be a child of God? (Romans 8:17; Gal 4:7)

  • Note: An heir is usually a son or daughter who will one day inherit all that the father and mother own. Since you are an heir of God and since Jesus is now your brother, than everything that Jesus is promised as an inheritance is now also promised to you in Heaven.

  • 3. What is promised to Jesus to inherit? (Hebrews 1:2)

  • Note: Jesus is now heir of “all things”. The entire universe is in His hands and when He returns for us, He will share the entire universe with us.

  • 4. What does Jesus promise to those who follow Him? (Rev 3: 21; 2:26, 27; 5:9, 10)

  • Note: God would be fair if through the death of Jesus, He brought our planet back to its original place in Eden. But God does much more than that! He makes us much more important than if we would have never sinned. He actually shares His throne with us! He “makes it up to us” for all the suffering and pain we go through. He even gives us crowns to wear in order to show that we are kings and queens with Him. What amazing love God has for us!

  • 5. What did Christ promise He would prepare for his followers? (John 14:1-3)

  • Note: Jesus is getting everything ready for us right now. He is busy working so that everything will be perfect for us when He comes back to take us to Heaven.

  • 6. How does the Bible describe the place that God is preparing for us? (1 Corinthians 2:9)

  • 7. What type of place is this to be? Hebrews 11:10, 16)

  • 8. What is the name of this heavenly city? (Revelation 21:2)

  • 9. How does the Bible describe the Holy City? (Rev. 21:17-25)

  • a. v.18 The wall of it was of ________________.

  • b. v.18 The city was pure __________________.

  • c. v.21 The twelve gates were twelve ____________.

  • d. v. 21 The streets were pure _______________.

  • e. v.23 The city needed neither ____________________________.

  • f. v.25 There shall be no _______________.

  • Note: This beautiful city will be brilliant with gold and gems. But the best part about this city is that Jesus will be there with us.

  • 10. What planet is to be the everlasting home of God’s children? (Matt. 5:5)

  • 11. From where did John say the New Jerusalem would come to this earth? (Rev. 21:2, 3, 10)

  • Note: New Jerusalem will be the capital city on earth and the earth will now become the center of the entire universe. We will be ruling the universe with God in Heaven.

  • 12. How will the earth be purified to receive this beautiful city? (2 Peter 3:10-13)

  • 13. How will the new earth differ from our earth today?

  • a. (Rev. 21:1)

  • b. (Isaiah 35:1)

  • c. (Isaiah 60:18)

  • d. (Isaiah 65:25)

  • e. (Rev. 7:16)

  • 14. What are some of the things that we will be doing in heaven? (Isaiah 65:17-22)

  • 15. What will our bodies be like? (Philippians 3:20, 21)

  • 17. Will we be with the rest of our family? (Isaiah 65:23; 66:22)

  • 18. Will we continue to worship God on the Sabbath day? (Isaiah 66:23)

  • 19. What will God do to show how happy He will be when we are with Him in Heaven? (Luke 12:37)

  • Conclusion: How great is God’s love that the planet that sinned and crucified Him will now become the center of the entire universe and that we will reign with Him on His very throne. He loves us so much that He wants to be with us for all eternity. As we continue to find out just how much God loves us, we continue to grow in our love and trust in Him.
