Black History Month

In honor of Black History Month, each week we are going to feature a different black christian figure in history.

Sojourner Truth

Born as a slave, Sojourner Truth would go on to become one of the country’s greatest abolitionists and women’s rights activists. She toured the country making speeches against slavery. A man once told her that her speeches were no more important than a flea bite, but she replied: “Maybe not, but the Lord willing, I’ll keep you scratching.”
