(California Family) Last Wednesday marked the start of the annual 40 Days for Life campaign, with dozens of local prayer vigils happening throughout California! 40 Days for Life is an international program of organized prayer, fasting, community outreach, all centered around peaceful vigils outside of abortion facilities.

Thousands of churches and over one million volunteers participate in this effort each year. At the time of this writing, at least 19,322 babies have been saved. Abortion facilities have closed and hesitant, expecting parents have changed their minds on going through with an abortion after talking with the peaceful sidewalk counselors.

Just one month ago, California Family Council was excited to lead the first-ever California March for Life outside the Capitol in Sacramento. The annual national March for Life in Washington D.C. has been going on since 1974, so the fact that California finally held this historic rally in 2021 is monumental.
