1. Review I Thessalonians 1:1-10. From the study of these verses share what impressed you the most about the believers in Thessalonica.
a. How are you applying what you learned from Chapter One?
2. Read the following portions of I Thessalonians 2 and give a title for each section:

3. Paul began to remind the Thessalonians of his conduct when he first came to their city to share the gospel with them. View this in I Thessalonians 2:1-4. What do you see?
Optional: Give a short report of Paul's visit in Philippi from Acts 16:11-40.
4. Paul continued to remind the believers in Thessalonica of how he and those with him had treated them when they were there. Choose and record a few phrases from I Thessalonians 2:5-11 that Paul used to describe their behavior.
a. How would you describe the behavior of the one(s) who shared Jesus and
the way of salvation with you?
5. As a father would his own children, Paul exhorted the Thessalonian believers. Print his instruction to them recorded in I Thessalonians 2:12.
a. What does the phrase, walk worthy of God say to you about the way you live?
6. Paul's focus now shifts to the way the Thessalonians received the Word of God that was shared with them. According to I Thessalonians 2:13 how did they receive it?

7. From I Thessalonians 2:14-16 briefly summarize what you learn about:
those who suffered persecution
those who did the persecuting
a. How have you been persecuted for your faith in Christ?
8. Read I Thessalonians 2:17-20 as if you were one of the recipients of Paul's letter. Describe the affect you think this would have had on the Thessalonian believers.
9. Keep I Thessalonians 2:19-20 in mind as you read III John 1:4. Why do you think this would be the greatest joy for a pastor or a minister of God?
10. Share how Paul or the believers in Thessalonica are an example for you to follow. Do both if you have time.
11. In what way did the Lord minister to you as you worked on your lesson?
12. Write a prayer to the Lord responding to the things He has shown you through Chapter Two of First Thessalonians.
