  • What are Life Groups?

Life Groups provide a place for spiritual growth and accountability that integrates community, prayer and Bible study. The Life Group strategies, combined with an engaging curriculum, will allow the opportunity for dynamic fellowship groups.

“And let us consider each other carefully for the purpose of sparking love and good deeds. Don’t stop meeting together with other believers, which some people have gotten into the habit of doing. Instead, encourage each other, especially as you see the day drawing near.” (Hebrews 10:24-25, CEB) Come, let us grow together!

  • Meeting Format

Small groups will meet weekly (or bi-weekly) and range in size from 5-10 members. Some studies will meet remotely using Zoom, others will meet in person, while some groups will be hybrid and use both. Group composition can be multi-generational and co-ed or can be gender or aged-based depending upon the gorals of each group.

As a guide, it is suggested that the hour be broken

    into the following segments:

    • (5 minutes) Welcome/announcements
    • (15-20 minutes) Open sharing, prayer requests and time of prayer
    • (25-30 minutes) Inductive Bible/Book study
  • Life Group Strategies

    Sharing & Prayer

During this time of crises, heightened level of stress and isolation, people need encouragement and the prayer of others more urgently. Also, our communities, nation and world need prayer and intercession; we are called to engage in spiritual battle on their behalf.

    Facilitated Bible Study

Facilitated discussions around a book of the Bible, or other book study, are an effective strategy to help gourd members share knowledge and encourage personal exploration of a biblical topic or passage. The key is

to help members apply scripture, and biblical principles, to their own lives and to engage in self-discovery of Biblical truth.

    Community Building

John Wesley admonished, “there is no holiness without social holiness.” In other words, faith and expressed Christian living takes place in community. A key goal of Life Groups is not only to promote individual spiritual growth, but to create a supportive community that can provide relational and spiritual support for each other.
