There are many tips and tricks when it comes to cleaning our mattresses but a new viral cleaning trick may just transform how you clean yours...
A clever hack — which has been shared by the popular Facebook account DEMIC — shows how to effectively clean a bedroom mattress with something many of us will have sitting in our kitchen cabinet: baking soda.
Yes, the key ingredient used in many cakes and recipes can supposedly easily rid your mattress of dirt, dust and skin cells.
The now-viral video, which has been viewed over 2.4 million times, shows a person covering their mattress with baking soda, adding a few drops of essential oils and leaving it for an hour. Afterwards, it is then vacuumed, leaving a stain-free and clean mattress.
The step-by-step video explains exactly how to try the hack at home. One user who gave it a try, said: 'I applied only baking soda, olive oil and honey..I saw the result in just one go...amazing miracle result!'
Others, however, were unsure whether it would really work. Some explained the vacuum used to clean floors would be unhygienic to clean a bed, and that a mattress protector works just as well to protect it. Will you give the hack a go?
