Cabin Fever Cookie Exchange Instructions

Swap cookies…not germs!

While we’re all cooped up in our homes during the quarantine, we could all use a little bit of hospitality from our beloved church family. The Calvary: the Hill CFCE is a way we can extend and receive love to one another whilst still following safe social distancing standards and protocol.

How it Works…

The practical function of the Exchange will be very simple:

• Sign up to bake and receive at the following link by Wednesday April 8th, 2020: https://pixelark.com/calvarythehill/form/secret-baker-exchange/?7137
• When the form is completed, the administrators will add your name to the pool of bakers and recipients and assign you a household for whom to bake and will notify you by sending you a copy of their order which will include all of the particulars you’ll need to fulfill their requests.
• The administrators will also assign another Secret Baker your household and pass along your order to them.
• Deliveries will happen any time between 12pm, Friday April 10th, 2020 and 5pm Monday, April 13th, 2020.
• You will receive a text from one of the administrators when your dish is delivered.

While Preparing Dish…

DO

• Wash your hands!
• Refer to the order form provided to you for batch size and dietary restrictions/preferences.
• Consider reaching out to a member of the recipients’ home group for recommendations. But make sure they keep it a secret!
• Make the dish custom! You’re welcome to bake with prepared dough (Tollhouse, etc.), but add some custom flare to the recipe to make it your own.
• Take special care to ensure surfaces and dishes are kept sanitary.
• Enclose a letter of encouragement to your recipients’ household to let them know that you’re thinking of them!
• If possible, enclose within two barriers In order to ensure safety, please put your baked goods in a traditional container, then in a sealed box so it may be left on the recipients’ doorstep.

Please Do Not

• Plate your baked goods in a container that you would like back. In order to keep this exchange as simple as possible, please utilize a container that you can part with.
• Notify your recipient that you’re baking for them, it’s a secret!

When Delivering Dish…

Deliveries will happen any time between 12pm, Friday April 10th, 2020 and 5pm Monday, April 13th, 2020. The flexibility of this time frame will increase the opportunity for this to be a successful surprise for the recipient. You may choose what time to deliver your dish!

1. Refer to the order form for the address of your recipient.
2. Your baked good should be boxed, deliver the box to a prominent yet secure place. Ring the doorbell or knock, and then run away quickly!
3. Text Cindy Chon at (949) 533-6515, she will notify your recipient that their dish has arrived so you remain anonymous!
