ERT

The Louisiana Conference is constantly in need of certified ERT responders.

Early Response Teams (ERT's) fill a specific need in the early days after a disaster to clean out flood-damaged homes, remove debris, place tarps on homes, and otherwise help to prevent further damage while providing a caring Christian presence.

ERT's are not the first-response group of emergency workers, nor are they recovery, rebuild, or repair teams.

Under very specific guidelines, ERT's assist survivors, without causing further harm or being a burden to the affected community.

Upcoming ERT Trainings

UMCOR’s Basic Training is a comprehensive course in working with survivors to help prevent further damage to their homes after a storm. Upon completion of the basic class and the proper background check, you will become a Certified ERT and will receive an ERT badge.

Certification makes you eligible to participate in most ERT deployments. Your certification must be renewed every three years.

"You're Not Alone..."

In the video below, Rev. Bob Deich explains what it's like to serve as the hands and feet of Christ and to provide a caring Christian presence in the aftermath of disaster.

We are always looking for churches to host ERT trainings. Please contact Scott Spalding if your church can host a training.

If you have ever wondered what it means to serve on an ERT team, please contact Rev. Bob Deich

For a sample of the training, view below this condensed muck out training video:

We thank you for your willingness to help us recover, to provide the hands and feet of Christ, and tangibly love your neighbor.
