Dear Church Family,

On Monday, we celebrate the 4th of July, also known as Independence Day. We commemorate the passage of the Declaration of Independence. The American colonies wanted their freedom from Great Britain, and on 2 July 1776, the Continental Congress voted for that independence. The vote passed; however, it wasn’t until two days later, on the 4th of July, that the Declaration of Independence was revised and signed.

Though all of the founding fathers were not necessarily Christians, there is little doubt the principles upon which the United States was founded are indeed found in the Bible. Equality, liberty, and justice are all biblical principles. As believers, we experience a freedom in Christ we can celebrate every day. It’s the freedom from the power of sin and separation from God. It’s a freedom from the fear of death replaced with a living hope.

The Bible says, “Therefore, if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed” (John 8:36). During the BBQs and fireworks, let’s be sure to thank the Lord for the freedom He has provided in Jesus Christ. Happy Fourth everyone!

Hello Church Family,

Thank you so much for joining us in prayer for Priscilla's mom Aleyda over the past few weeks. If you missed the previous updates, you can find them here and here. We have seen the Lord answer prayer! Aleyda's health has greatly improved. In fact, she was able to leave the ICU about a week ago and then was transferred out of the hospital to an assisted care facility a couple days ago. We have also seen the Lord moving throughout the family as He gives us peace and draws us to Himself. We are praying that God uses these events to bring unsaved family members to salvation. Although Aleyda has greatly improved physically, there is still a long road ahead before she gets back to normal mentally. She can communicate a little bit with limited words, but she is still confused and disoriented at times. She's still not able to have full, coherent conversations. We just started a Kids Club Ministry here in San Clemente as well. They meet on Saturday mornings at 9AM for prayer and setup. Kids Club then starts at 9:30AM ends 12:30PM.
