One of Evangelical Christianity’s most sought-after speakers, along with a rising Christian music group, will appear at Woodside’s Troy campus Saturday, Jan. 14 for a special night of music and powerful Bible teaching.
The event, featuring the Rend Collective Experiment Christian music group along with speaker Francis Chan is expected to draw an audience from across the region.
The Rend Collective Experiment is a worship community from Ireland. Also appearing as a special musical guest that night is Rachel Chan, his daughter and a rising pop singer.
Chan’s book, Crazy Love: Overwhelmed by a Relentless God, became a sensation when it was released in 2009 and made Chan, founding pastor of Cornerstone Church in Simi Valley, CA, a household name in the evangelical world.
It won the Retailers Choice Award in the “Christian Living” category. The book calls Christians to radically respond to God’s love. He released his second book Forgotten God: Reversing Our Tragic Neglect of the Holy Spirit in August 2009. A third book, Erasing Hell, was released last July.
Tickets for the even cost $8 each and can be obtained at http://www.woodsidebible.org/troy/resources/tickets

Dear Woodside Family and Friends,
I am so glad that you are here! Our worship gatherings are designed to encourage your love for God and deepen your love for people, especially the people in your own home. After all, what good is our faith if it does not impact those closest to us? Your time in church this weekend should cultivate your desire to love your loved ones well. Arguably, the greatest way that you and I can express our faith in Christ is through our marriages.
Woodside values marriage and we know the importance of having a strong marriage. We also know it can be pretty tough in today’s world to stay connected and focused on God and His plans and purposes for your relationship. Whether you’re newly married or have been married for what seems to be a lifetime, our desire is for you to have a strong marriage built on God’s Word while finding support, encouragement and friendship of community. One of the ways that we strengthen marriages is through focused and intentional marriage retreats at our Lodge. These retreats will transform your marriage, no matter what condition or season you find yourself in. Learn more at woodsidebible.org/TheLodge.
Soli Deo Gloria,
Pastor Chris Senior Pastor

Revelation, Israel & Eschatology
This course will examine the Bible to help you gain a better understanding of End Times events. The book of Revelation will be the basis for this in depth study. Special attention will be given to the current events we see in the headlines each day and their impact on the discussion of eschatology.
9:30 a.m. – Room 17 - Teacher: Khalaf Haddad.
Love & Respect
Dr. Emerson Eggerichs and his wife Sarah have studied Scripture carefully as well as examined the dynamic within the marriage relationship concluding that love best motivates a woman and respect most powerfully motivates a man. Research reveals that during marital conflict a husband most often reacts when feeling disrespected and a wife reacts when feeling unloved. This course takes you step by step through this essential material that helps build a strong and healthy marriage no matter what stage of life you are in.
9:30 a.m. - Room 15 - Teacher: Randy Trautmann
Soteriology
This course is a study of the nature of salvation. You will focus on the doctrine of justification - the central issue of the Reformation, and gain a better understanding of the ongoing debate between God's sovereignty and man's responsibility. It will answer many tough questions such as: Are we really predestined by God? Why did Christ die on the cross? Did he pay for all sins or just the sins of the elect? What is the difference between Roman Catholicism, Eastern Orthodoxy and Protestants? Can a person lose their salvation? What about those who have never heard?
11 a.m. – Room 3 - Teacher: David Black
