Dear Union Church Family,

Happy Friday! I hope that you are enjoying some of this glorious spring weather, and I pray that you are all doing well. It is so exciting to see the numbers of reported COVID 19 cases in the US continue to drop and the number of vaccinations rise. Can you feel it? We’re getting through this together, and I anticipate that life will be somewhat normal again in the next few months.

Of course, this is not the case for our brothers and sisters in India, Brazil and Mexico. My heart breaks for them and I urge you to join with me in prayer as they (and so many other places in the world) continue to struggle amidst this ongoing pandemic.

In this Sunday’s sermon, we continue to ask Jesus to teach us how to love. I will be looking at two scenes in the life and ministry of Jesus where both his zealous love, and his compassion for the broken is put on full display! The texts are Luke 7:36-50 and Mark 3:1-6 and the sermon is entitled, “Love, The Teacher: Part II”.

I would love for you to join us for in-person worship (if you are ready). Of course, if you are not able to attend in-person, please continue to worship with us at the Union Church of Robinson’s YouTube channel at 11:00am.

See you in Church,

Billy

Please join us on the 23rd. The missions team is hosting a Chance Auction to benefit the Missions Fund. The baskets this year are truly incredible - we have Italian, Starbucks, Gluten Free, Spa, Turtle picnic, Wine, Hotel, and amazing restaurants. There will also be a few silent auction items including Steelers Tickets, Pirates Tickets, handmade Afghans and Quilts, in addition to Heather's Famous Babysitting. The Rolling Meatballs Food Truck will be attending for an enjoyable afternoon.

Women's Bible Study

We will be meeting on Tuesday, May 25gh at 12:30 in Fellowship Hall where we will follow Paul as he begins his trails in Jerusalem, where his 3rd missionary journey ends. ALL WOMEN INVITED! Sure hope to see you there! Please wear your mask and we will sit social-distanced.

Plastic Jar Collection

If you have any empty 30-33.5 oz plastic jars with lids at home, please bring them in and drop them off in the tall pink VBS 2021 box in the sanctuary. The VBS team will be using these jars to make a fun craft with the children. Thank you for your help!

VBS Registration is Open!

New Church Directory

Unfortunately, due to Covid, the Church Directory portion of Lifetouch has been discontinued and our current Church Directory app will no longer be active at the end of June. As a result, Union has transitioned over to the Instant Church Directory platform. Please watch your email for instructions on how to access our new password protected server. If your email is not currently in the church directory, please email Ashley in the church office to be added.

Food Pantry Donations Needed

The Deacons are accepting non-perishable grocery items for the monthly food pantry. We need spaghetti sauces, cake mixes, icing, canned fruit and vegetables as well as chili ingredients. We do accept all food donations. Additionally, paper products, cleaning supplies, health and beauty items will be accepted. Please put all donations in the donation boxes in Fellowship Hall. Thank you for your support!

Union and 412 Rescue

Currently a 412 volunteer delivers produce every Sunday between 10-12 that needs to be unpacked and separated into bags to be used before it spoils. We have offered this additional service to our present Food Pantry clients as a supplement to our monthly boxes. What food we have left we encourage our members to take to share with family, friends and neighbors who are food insecure. Anyone wishing to help with delivery and bagging is welcome to help. Please contact one of your deacons to volunteer!
