BREAKING NEWS!!!
Greetings Union Church Family! Hope your week has been healthy and blessed. The weekend is here and I am excited to bring you two items of very good news.
First, I am pleased to announce that beginning this week workers will be installing a new electronic sign to replace the old sign on Steubenville Pike. Due to the generosity of a certain anonymous family in our congregation, we are able to make this much needed upgrade with no impact to our budget. Local company, Smart Signs, will be performing the work and they hope to complete the job by this weekend.
Second, I am also pleased to inform you of a wonderful development within the Union Church Child Care. Child Care Director, Kelsey Liwosz, has completed a year-long re-visioning plan which includes new accreditation as well as a re-branding component. On September 28, 2020 Union Church Session approved these plans and we are pleased to announce that Union Church Child Care will now be known officially as “Union Christian Academy.” For more details please click here. Suffice it to say, I am so proud of her hard work and diligence in this effort. We are blessed by her faithful and visionary leadership.
Finally, I am preaching once again from the book of Revelation this Sunday (I think I’m becoming obsessed with this book!) Once again, we pull back the curtain and get a glimpse of the multitudes worshipping the great Lamb of God in heaven. The texts are Revelation 15:2-4 and 19:1-5 and the title is “Heavenly Worship.”
As we head closer to this wonderful season of Thanksgiving I am grateful not only for the way the Lord is blessing our church family, but I am especially grateful for you! Have a great weekend and see ya in church!
Love,
Billy
P.S. With COVID infection rates rising rapidly in Allegheny County and beyond (In fact, this week’s count of new COVID infections in Allegheny County is higher than any earlier week), we are asking that you remain vigilant in wearing masks to worship and maintaining proper social distancing. Remember, this wont last forever and we are all in this together.
