79 Percent of California Likely Voters Believe Abortion Should be Limited Within the First Six Months of Pregnancy
Chino Hills, CA—August 23, 2022—Real Impact and Rasmussen Reports today released the results from a survey of likely California voters. Results were from more than 1,000 respondents during August 10-11, 2022.
“Gavin Newsom’s radical liberal government is trying to sneak past the people of California a constitutional amendment that would pave the way for abortion without limitations,” said Pastor Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel Chino Hills. “Proposition 1 on the 2022 ballot—which places no limits on abortion—is way too extreme even in a state where the majority say they are pro-choice. I believe abortion should never be enshrined in our constitution and allowing late-term abortion is especially evil.”
KEY INSIGHT: 79 percent of California likely voters say abortion should be limited to within the first six months of pregnancy:
-
32 percent say abortion should be legal up to three months of a pregnancy
-
19 percent say abortion should be legal up to the first month of pregnancy
-
14 percent say abortion should be legal up to six months of a pregnancy
-
14 percent say abortion should be illegal
-
13 percent say abortion should be legal at any time during pregnancy
-
9 percent are not sure

(Faith & Freedom) Gary Bauer, Senior Vice President of Public Policy at the Dr. James Dobson Family Institute and President of American Values . . . says this academic year may be one of the most important in the history of our country. The evidence is overwhelming that America’s classrooms, from the earliest grades, are being used not to educate but to indoctrinate our children with radical ideologies, racially divisive theories, and distorted views on human sexuality.
Rather than paraphrase his warning I'll print it as he published it:
Here are 3 main areas of concern for parents across the country:
1. Human sexuality – Sexually explicit textbooks, library materials, workbooks, and classroom handouts are being introduced to children at inappropriate ages, including as early as first grade.
Transgender ideology is being pushed aggressively in many classrooms. In some cases, very young children are taught that if they “feel like a girl and a boy” they are transgender. So much for the “tomboy” girl who loves to play with her brothers! Some teachers have even told children to pick the pronouns they want to be called but instructed them not to tell their parents.

(Washington Stand) A year ago, Calvary Chapel San Jose (CCSJ) was the most persecuted church in America. Despotic officials, both state and local, employed every trick in the book, unsuccessfully, to force the church to shut its doors. The harassment continued after the Supreme Court ruled twice in the church’s favor. On Monday, the California Court of Appeals (the state’s mid-level court) hopefully ended the crusade, ruling in favor of CCSJ and its Pastor Mike McClure in three separate cases.
Governor Gavin Newsom’s (D) draconian lockdown effectively turned California into the world’s second-largest prison after China, prohibiting all gatherings of any size — unless you were rich and powerful. Once that expired, Santa Clara County officials determined to impose similarly onerous restrictions, at least on less-favored activities, such as religious worship.
The church’s choice to “obey God rather than men” (Acts 5:29) painted a giant bullseye on their back, and local officials were all too ready for some target practice. The government sought to punish the church for “not neglecting to meet together” (Hebrews 10:25), as Scripture commands. They also targeted the church’s bank and mortgage holder, snooped around looking for something wrong with its church-run school, and tried to harass its employees and members.

(Townhall) Imagine being a woman in 1972 when the Title IX Education Amendment was made law. Imagine the elation that girls and women felt when the federal government stepped in to ensure they could fairly compete in sports and other programs by banning sex discrimination.
Now imagine every gain in Title IX being wiped out by a pseudoscience that wants to erase women.
Today, an extremist Biden administration has no regard for the meaning of words. The President’s proposed radical changes to Title IX render the actual text meaningless and turn federally-funded schools into pronoun police and political propagandists for the LGBT lobby. Transgenderism has become this administration’s battering ram as it relentlessly tries to break down the walls of common sense.
Before I go any further, my nouns are factivist and myth-slayer. I can only be referred to in this way. To do otherwise would be semantic harassment.

(Standing For Freedom Center) Forced redistribution of wealth is unjust and unbiblical. Or better yet, it’s unjust because it is unbiblical.
And unbiblical it is.
The Bible offers clear directives to Christians as to how to help those under financial distress, and none of those directives involve “social justice” shakedowns from government reps who use poverty as a pretext to expand power and line federal agencies with taxpayer cash.
Rather than view civil government as God’s instrument to keep the peace and maintain order — the outline given in Romans 13:1-6 and 1 Peter 2:13-14 — liberal Christians have expanded its role to be a paternalistic provider as well.
To these folks, there is no limiting principle that governs the reach of civil government if the words poor, widow, and orphan are repeated enough times in a sentence.
Anything goes!
Case in point: after the glorious ruling striking down Roe vs. Wade earlier this summer, Christianity Today published an essay that scolded the “individualistic politics of modern American conservatism” that “resists [a] liberal social vision.”

(Daily Signal) In the run-up to November’s midterm elections, Twitter is priming itself to go on a censoring spree in the name of fighting misinformation.
What could possibly go wrong?
The social media platform made the announcement Thursday that it was “activating enforcement of our Civic Integrity Policy for the 2022 U.S. midterms.”
The tech giant said it would institute so-called prebunks, information designed to counter “misleading narratives,” on top of putting its finger on the scale to prevent tweets containing “misinformation” from reaching users through notifications.
“Twitter plays a critical role in empowering democratic conversations, facilitating meaningful political debate, and providing information on civic participation—not only in the U.S., but around the world,” the company concluded. “People deserve to trust the election conversations and content they encounter on Twitter.”
This new policy is ripe for abuse. Twitter has proven time and again it cannot be trusted to serve as a neutral judge of what is or isn’t misinformation.

(Washington Stand) Conservative states have a warning for corporations that have “gone woke”: the consequences of political activism are no longer one-sided. This month, West Virginia declared it would no longer do business with five Wall Street banks over the companies’ anti-coal or anti-fossil fuel policies. “You have your right to be able to boycott the fossil fuel industry, but we’re not going to do business with you. We’re not going to pay for our own destruction,” state treasurer Riley Moore said. “They’ve weaponized tax dollars against the very people and industries that have generated those dollars.” Derek Kreifels, CEO of the State Financial Officers Foundation, added, “If you want to make social change in this country, we have a democratic process that you should utilize to get that done.”
In recent years, corporate board rooms have been smitten with a movement of “ESG” principles, which elevate “environmental, social, and governance” issues — fancy words to describe a preference for progressive policies — over profits when making business decisions. The movement encompasses everything from reducing their carbon footprint to expanding employee benefits, lobbying legislators to using rainbow logos in June. The well-intentioned activism can sometimes fulfill expectations, but often it causes harm instead. For example, at least 60 corporations responded to the Dobbs decision by expanding employee abortion benefits. Corporations believed woke activism would win over progressives by demonstrating that they were one of the “good” businesses, while the pro-business policies of Republicans would prevent them from retaliating.

(Washington Stand) A recent Gallup poll confirmed what many Americans already knew — people don’t trust the media like they did before. Back in 1979, confidence in the media was at a high of 51%. Today, while Democrats tend to trust newspaper and TV media sources more than Independents and Republicans do, the poll numbers indicate that distrust is staggeringly low across the political aisle. With public faith in a variety of institutions on the decline, the media comes in at the bottom of the list, second only to the U.S. Congress.
Why are Americans jaded with journalism? Many don’t believe that fair and unbiased newsreporting exists. Data shows a partisan divide in the amount of trust (and distrust) that people tend to place in mainstream media and in reporters. In recent years, even U.S. presidents have fueled and expressed distrust in the institution of media. Former President Donald Trump was frequently at odds with the “fake news media,” calling many mainstream outlets the “enemy of the people.” On air in June, President Joe Biden told Jimmy Kimmel that the “press has changed” and “everything gets sensationalized by the media.”
“They’ve earned every bit of cynicism that they are now receiving,” says Family Research Council’s Joseph Backholm, senior fellow with the Center for Biblical Worldview.

(WND) A multitude of "woke" corporations moved blatantly against American consumers' pro-life perspectives when the Dobbs decision came from the Supreme Court, returning regulation of the lucrative abortion industry to states.
They announced all sorts of programs, including those that would use corporate funds to pay for workers to travel to abortion-promoting states for what they call "health care."
But the companies' social agenda is generating a response, and the latest appears to be a boycott of Target that was announced by the 500,000-strong Concerned Women for America.
The details are outlined in the Washington Examiner, which explained Concerned Women described Target's agenda as a "slap in the face" to pro-life customers.
Penny Nancy, the chief of CWA, pointedly noted that Target "does not provide help to pregnant employees who decide to have their children," the report said.
