It's complicated ...

Today's sermon is week two of the series, It's Complicated.

We will be addressing how Jesus responded to complicated situations and complicated people.

He never used just one tool that fitted everything. Even though He remained the same, the responses He had to each situation were different.

We would love you to join us.

This series gives us a great opportunity to invite our friends who don't normally attend church.

If you are watching online, the 8am service is on Facebook Live and the 10am service is on YouTube Live.

We're excited to announce that we will be doing the Alpha Youth Series - an 8 week course specifically designed for Grade 7s - 12s.

The course covers the foundations of Christianity and is designed to give young people space to explore their questions about life, faith and purpose. It has been created to enable teens to explore the core ideas of the Christian faith in a relevant, accessible and engaging way.

This series consists of 10 episodes run over 8 weeks. Each episode focuses on a different aspect of faith and life with inspiring stories and interviews from around the globe. Each episode also consists of discussion breaks to encourage engagement and conversation amongst teens and their leader.

The course will start on 4 May until 22 June (8 weeks) on Sundays during the 10 am service.

A note from Sean

In Matthew 6, Jesus instructs us not to store up our earthly treasures. He goes on to ask us to examine the desires of our hearts. He is challenging us to look at what we are prioritising?

Being generous is evidence that we are prioritising God’s Kingdom and that we have the desire and the capacity to share our treasures.

Our church has many needs, but sometimes financial limitations prevent us from doing what needs to be done.

We need to be ‘Kingdom Builders’.

If you feel led by God to be generous, look at a list of our current specific needs click on the link below.

If you have any questions you can email me at sean@homeground.org.za

Thank you in advance for your generosity – it will have Kingdom impact.

We are reminded that God loves a cheerful giver, and therefore we deeply appreciate your willingness to share your blessings.

Why do we give?

There's a beautiful reminder about why we give back to God. This verse can be found in 1 Chronicles 29:16, but it is worth reading the whole chapter. David was physically building a temple, but we are busy building God's church in Westville, Durban and the world.

But me—who am I, and who are these my people, that we should presume to be giving something to you? Everything comes from you; all we’re doing is giving back what we’ve been given from your generous hand. (The Message)

Home Ground Church's finances rely on the faithful tithing from those who consider this church to be their spiritual home.

Giving is not just a financial transaction; it is a spiritual discipline that aligns our hearts with God's purpose and allows us to be active participants in the plans He has.
