Who is my neighbour?
This is exactly the question Jesus was asked many years ago - and a great question to ask ourselves in 2025.
Over the next few weeks we are going to be exploring that question.
Who is our neighbour?
What does it look like to really love our neighbour as we love ourselves. Is our neighbour literally just over the fence - or could they be much, much further away?
If you are watching online, the 8am service is on Facebook Live and the 10am service is on YouTube Live.

A few years ago, many of you did the Renovo survey. Home Ground Church scored a 68, which meant we were an average church. But nobody wants to be average!
That’s why we began the Route 86 journey — to turn that 68 upside-down into an 86 — a church that is vibrant and full of life.
Our leadership team spent time unpacking those results, identifying where people were struggling in their spiritual journey, and putting steps in place to help close the gaps.
Now it’s time to check how we’re doing — and we need your help.
We know you’re busy and your time is valuable, but your input is vital to help us see if we’re heading in the right direction. And the feedback that has been heard is that this survey not only helps the church, but also helps you & challenges you to see how you are doing on your Christian walk - whether you're a brand new Christian or have been a Christian for longer than you can remember!
We are aiming for 300 people to complete the survey - so, we really need your help!
Just give yourself 30 minutes with a cup of coffee and click on the link below.
If you need help, or don't have wifi or data, please let us know so that we can help you.

This is such a fantastic opportunity for our kids to serve and for our community to be blessed!
If you have kids of this age, please bring them to the police station with a small spade, a sunhat, sunblock and maybe a snack!

 Here's something exciting coming up.
From 1 to 7 September is the Global Week of 24-7 Prayer. The vision is simple but powerful: to see non-stop prayer in every nation on earth, lifting up the name of Jesus and asking God to move across the world.
God will enter where He is invited. And we want to create a space for encounters with Him!
Through our Prayer Room of interactive prayer spaces we will be joining many other churches and nations all over the world in 24-7 non-stop prayer.
The chapel will be open all day and night from 1 September at 7 am to 7 September.
There will be no sign up - just pitch up and pray!

Jesus promised his disciples that when he was gone he would send a helper - the Holy Spirit. And that's exactly what happened when the Christ-followers met in the Upper Room - they received the gift of the Holy Spirit.
On SATURDAY, 13 September at 5:30 pm we will be having a time of worship, praise giving and prayer. (and yes, you read it correctly - SATURDAY)
There will be food, drinks and coffee available from 4:30 pm. You can help us with catering and speed, by pre-ordering - just click on the link below.
All are welcome - invite friends and family.
Also, if you'd like to be part of the choir for the evening let us know ASAP so we can get hold of you. feedback@homeground.org.za
PS: It's on a SATURDAY evening.

In His last words Jesus said to his own disciples “…go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you…” (Matthew 28:19-20).
This is an ancient practice that every Christ-follower from the time of Jesus onward has done out of its significance and in obedience to Jesus.
If you would like to put into practice Jesus' words and/ or find out more about the significance of being baptised we have a class in the Youth Centre at 11:30am on Sunday, 14 September.

Silence and solitude help us detach from the demands of our culture, the urgent messages, ringing telephones and rushing from one event to the next. These are put on hold as we create space to hear what God is saying to us so that we can grow to be more like Jesus.
"Solitude is not turning one's back on the world; it is turning our face toward God." Thomas Merton
If you would like to create space for your soul to listen to God in order to encounter Jesus and then return better equipped to live a life centred around Him, please join our weekend silent retreat.
Date: 24-26th October Venue: Coolock House Port Shepstone Cost: R1450 per person
Spaces are limited, as are sea view rooms, so bookings will take place on a first come first serve basis upon receipt of a proof of payment.
