HYG Christmas Party was a Blast!

We had students come out of the woodwork to enjoy our annual HYG Christmas party this past Wednesday. Robby and Laurie Betts helped us pull off breakfast for dinner, we were all comfy in our Christmas PJ’s, and everyone went home with a treasure, or at least something they didn’t have before-HA! This is always a fun night, a reminder of God’s goodness, and makes us thankful for each student and family we get to share life with.

Miss Ann honored with a Memphis Workcamp T-shirt blanket!

Even though the final Memphis Workcamp was 2 years ago, we still can’t help but celebrate its 31 year history and the difference it made in the lives of students and in Memphis. Memphis Workcamp would never have happened without Miss Ann organizing food for it every year since it began. She not only helped restaurants donate food each year, but she was the greatest cheerleader for our students and the difference they were helping make in our community. When it ended, we never got a chance to properly say “Thank You” for all the ways she helped Workcamp thrive and impact our community. We finally found the perfect gift to celebrate her dedication and service as well as all the years of Memphis Workcamp with a t-shirt blanket. Which year was your favorite tshirt?

Outreach Update

Thank you for helping us reach… and exceed… again…our Outreach Contribution goal of $215,000. As of yesterday, the total given was $225,000. While you can still give to it, it would be helpful if we turned our attention to the weekly contribution.

Most of our Vision 2028 initiatives are funded through our weekly giving. Our efforts to disciple the next generation, equip parents in family discipleship, and engage those with special needs are funded primarily through the gifts you make to Highland each week. Those gifts also make possible so much more in our life together as a church family.

At this point in the year, our weekly giving is always a little bit shy of our yearly budget. Then, because of generous year-end gifts, we nearly always meet and even pass our budgeted goal in the final few days of the year. That’s the spot we find ourselves in again. So, if you have more to give right now or at years-end, we encourage you to make that gift to our weekly contribution.

Thank you for being a church with a generous heart!

Contributions Thru ShelbyNext App

The ‘Give’ function within the ShelbyNext app is once again working and can be used to make either one-time or recurring contributions to Highland. If you need any assistance with the online giving process, please contact either Falon Avery or Jeff Morris.

4 Convenient Ways to Give

1. Online. Go to www.highlandcc.org/give. You can quickly create an account and make recurring or one-time gifts. ACH is preferred because of the lower fee. Debit and credit cards are accepted, but they charge a 2%-3% fee.
2. Text “Give” to 901-352-3200. This will take you to the website.
3. In Person. You can place cash and checks in one of the offering boxes located in the Chapel and Life Center. This is a great option for your children to give a tangible gift.
4. Mail. You can send checks to the church at 400 North Houston Levee Road, Cordova, TN 38018.
